The National Black Theatre of Sweden commemorate the date slavery was abolished in all parts of Sweden, including her colonies. The last legally owned slaves in the Swedish colony of Saint-Barthélemy, were bought and freed by the Swedish state on October 9, 1847.

On 9th October 2022 , We remember those African persons whose lives – men, women and children -were lost, stolen, bought and sold ,forgotten, and mark the day with vigil and gathering. To our community, to the continent, to our ancestors, to our great heritage as African person and the Diaspora.
