An open invitation for Afro-Swedish artists interested in writing for the stage
The National Black Theatre of Sweden (NBTS) is delighted to welcome you to our Writers development programme. Our Afro Swedish stories must be told about our dreams, our loves our fears and our hopes!
A play can take many forms, different from TV or a book; characters move live in front of you.
What does a script look like?
What form can script writing take? Film? Drawings? Poetry? Or words?
How do you build a character?
What is a story arc?
What plays would we write if it was not about racism?
We have a two-day writers dialogue to find and inspire new Afro Swedish writers for the future. Our aim is to have a new Afro Swedish play festival in 2020 in Stockholm.

You will need to send in information about yourself and why you want to participate. This can be an email or film. We welcome people with multi languages other than Swedish. We operate a zero tolerance against discrimination and operate intersectional inclusive policy in all our work.
The programme is free, and refreshments are provided for each session
